In 2000, the Institution Mixte Notre Dame de Lourdes was established. The facility was established to aid orphaned, abandoned, and underprivileged kids. Our institution, which is registered under the reference number STC-050704, was formally acknowledged by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (Ministère des Affaires Sociales et du Travail, MAST) in 2004. We were officially acknowledged in 2005 under reference number 585 by the Institution of Social Welfare and Research (l’Institution du Bien-être Social, et de Recherche, IBESR).

Located in Croix des Bouquets, (about 80,000 inhabitants, near Port-au-Prince), the Institution Mixte Notre Dame de Lourdes, also known as Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, is a home for vulnerable and marginalized children, children without family support, and particularly children who have been abused or who are at risk and who require educational support and social reintegration.

In 2004, the Departmental Office acknowledged our school, École Institution Mixte Dame de Lourdes, and it received its Certificate of Operation, which was registered at the DGEN at #2430 (the Department of Basic Education at #789-June 2, 2004).

The Association of Former Élie Dubois Students, which formed the Mathilde Van Den Berg Center, received approval from the National Institute of Professional Training (Institut National de la Formation Professionnelle, INFP) for its professional training initiatives.
